Varietal: 100% Aligote
Region: Cote Chalonnaise
Domaine Michel Goubard, now run by Michel’s sons Pierre-François and Vincent, is a picture of consistency: Growing wine in Saint-Désert in the central Côte Chalonnaise since the 17th century, Goubard has been noted by Robert Parker as “one of the first well-made value selections from the Côte Chalonnaise.”
White wine with a golden hue and light green reflections. It is fresh, direct and tonic with lively, lemony and even green apple notes, and has good persistence and tension. It is perfect as an aperitif, but it also goes well with Burgundian dishes such as parsleyed ham or snails in the shell as well as seafood (oysters) or goat’s cheese. Try it also with spring rolls.
