Knoll/Emmerich Loibner Gelber Traminer Smaragd 2019

If you know Austrian wine, chances are you know the wines of Weingut Emmerich Knoll. Often celebrated as the greatest estate in the Wachau, his entire range sets the standard for excellence in a region full of incredible producers.
Knoll is also known for crafting wines that need time, a lot of time, to unwind and display their distinct terroir and electric minerality. The Gruner Veltliners are whirlwinds of fruit and spice and rocks, the Rieslings and poised and edgy. Each wine presents clear varietal character but also showcases the inimitable terroir of the Wachau's top sites.
This idiosyncratic white has beautiful aromas and flavors, but it's slightly off balance, so it's really for those who are into the style. It shows lemon curd, mint and basil, with peach cream notes on the finish
Light yellow-green, silver reflexes. Some guava on the nose with a savoury quality and hints of lemon balm, grapefruit and marshmallow. Juicy, elegant, finely structured palate, fresh and lively with lime and white stone fruit on the finish. Already drinking well.
